Who knows when it first started….the love affair between the human taste bud and the decadence of chocolate? We all have heard people even say that the taste and smell are practically orgasmic.

BCBG MAXAZRIA gets it and knows that this scrumptious scent can be the ultimate pleasure.  That is why the fashion brand has teamed with Belgian chocolate brand, MAGNUM, to create the marriage of indulgence between fashion and delectable forbidden fruit. What was the result? This teaming culminated in the innovation designed wrap which allows you to experience the pleasure of chocolate wherever you go with the launch of The BCBGMAXAZARIA for MAGNUM Belgian Chocolate Wrap.

This beautiful wrap allows the wearer to experience the sensual effect of the famed European chocolate. Infused with the sexy scent, you fall under the indulgent spell of the “MAGNUM Effect,” as you’re wrapped in aromatic pleasure.

The MAGNUM Effect was the creation of Harvard scientist and scent inventor David Edwards and master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel—the result of crafting a blend of vanilla, sandalwood, creamy natural chocolate with Orris butter and Orris resinoid creating a scent that is soft, creamy and mouthwatering.

The wrap features an innovative technology called Wearable oNotes are designed to carry scent-based “messages” that trigger the positive experience associated with the smell of chocolate.

This fashionably delicious wrap is a limited edition “gift with a purchase” at select BCBGMAXAZRIA stores this summer.

SHOPPING NEWS: Eva Mendes teams with New York & Company for new collection

Eva Mendes has always been on my personal best-dressed list since she first began making the rounds at major red-carpet events.  She had this chic yet sexy and confident style about her—a sophisticated feminine swagger.

I’ve always picture Eva as that girlfriend with the perfect closet. Everything she puts on just looks great on her. Not only does she know how to dress for her body type but Eva has an innate style sense that can’t be taught.  Ok, so not all us are blessed with the ability to step into our closet and walk out a style icon, but thanks to Ms. Mendes and New York & Company, at least we can look like we did.

Back in February of this year, Ms. Mendes announced that she was collaborating with the affordable fashion retailer on a new collection. On Wednesday, Eva debuted the vintage-inspired line at store’s flagship in New York City.

Recently, Eva Mendes recently spoke about her foray into fashion design. “The challenging part of this process was knowing that I had women, especially my sisters, counting on me to make them look good,” Mendes tells the Huffington Post. “I take this very seriously … I can’t wait to get feedback from women about what works for them and what doesn’t. I hope I don’t disappoint them!”

Full of stylishly flirty pieces, the Eva Mendes Collection features dresses, skirts, blouses and accessories with an ultra femme feel. And every piece is under $100 (except for the coat which comes in soft pink ad camel). The collection launched on Thursday (September 19th– this blogger’s birthday). Many of the pieces are already sold out. Shop the collection here.

For the line’s launch on Wednesday, Eva Mendes wore a white draped bodysuit, black brocade pencil skirt and necklace.
Eva’s favorite dress from the collection is this front tunic style that is priced at $69.95. “I adore this dress,” she said, in the collection notes. “The silhouette is simple, flattering, and feminine.” It’s my favorite too…bought one for myself as a pre-birthday gift.
Another super cute piece that can be paired with jeans, slacks or a skirt…this polka-dot printed blouse for $49.95

This isn’t the first venture into the design world for Mendes. She launched a home décor line, Vida, with her former beau George Augusto.  In 2008, Eva launched a line of bed linens with Macy’s. She later teamed again with Macy’s to launch a line of dinnerware in 2010.

SHOPPING REVIEW: Shopbevel.com

Jewelry is the wearer’s chance to make a personal statement to the world. It can be symbolic of one’s history (family heirlooms), cultural or ethnic traditions, or simply one’s personal style.

I am a self professed jewelry fanatic. I love baubles of all kinds: rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, cuffs…and everything in between. I’m intrigued by them all—costume versus real, metals, precious and semi-precious stones (I’m mad about sapphires—my birthstone), wood, beads and whatever else jewelry can be made of.

Being a New Yorker, I like to march to the beat of my own drum and tend to look for pieces that may make me stand out from a crowd. For me jewelry can easily become a conversation piece or even an ice breaker. I routinely visit places and events where I get to see one-of-a-kind or limited edition pieces by independent designers. But my search for the perfect piece doesn’t only take place in the physical world, but is also done virtually. Recently, I learned about a very unique site called SHOPBEVEL.

SHOPBEVEL? What’s makes it so different from the other indie sites out there? Well, it was started on a whole different premise. Started in 2012 by then business school student, Courtney McColgan, Shopbevel works with independent designers to bring to market the best in jewelry design. What makes this site different from any other is that designers submit designs to special curated challenges that the community votes on. The “winners” of the design challenges then have their pieces manufactured and marketed by Shopbevel. Seriously, how cool is that? Courtney and her team believe every jewelry designer should have the opportunity to be discovered and work to create a community to make that possible.

I tend to be very classic in my personal style of dress and so use jewelry to add pops of color and to stand out. I got a chance to experiment with some of the spring’s most popular trends with the pieces I got from Shopbevel. Experimenting with the neon and spike trends, I got to check out the Neon Spike Bangles created by C. Solis of Madrid, Spain. Winner of the “Nod to Neon” design challenge, Ms. Solis’ creations come in a set of 3 (neon pink, yellow and orange) neon coated metal bangles with spiked ends—definitely adds some edge to any outfit. Very affordably priced, these bracelets retail for $35.

Definitely trendy and really cute, they did attract attention throughout my travels during the day. I was asked by a few women and teens where I got my bracelets. I happily told them about Shopbevel. And I am very eager to share this site with my readers. The folks Shopbevel have been quite nice in allowing me to share a discount code to enjoy 25% off your order.

Reader Discount: 25% Off

This code is good for the entire month of July!
