In Loving Memory….

Two years ago, we lost a beautiful star in the plus community. Let us all take a moment and remember Mia Amber Davis and the amazing woman that she was.

So a few weeks ago I got a marketing email from Dove (I’ve been using their products for years) talking about using “real” women in their upcoming campaign entitled “Show Us Your Skin.” Being the ambitious former plus model that I am, you know I had to submit my photo.

On a recent trip to Florida, I snapped a quick photo in the bathroom (ummm not one of those type of pics) of me with a fresh, unmade-up face to send to my significant other back home– as he is always trying to “see” how I’m feeling as my face is an open book to my emotions. So not having a recent “professional” picture, I said, what they hey, why not submit this one. It was accepted and I forgot all about it.

Fast forward to today….I got an email from Dove saying that my picture is part of their “living billboard” in Times Square! Check out my headshot in “the crossroads of the world.”

So I guess now I can add a Dove campaign to my model resume. LOL!

Ok, so what--we are a little bias when it comes to Christina Mendez. It could be her candidness during an interview, or it could be her 24/7 grind--we aren’t sure which, but anyway you slice it we just love her.

If it seemed like she had been missing in action, you can attribute that to her new bundle of joy, Cailey Christine.

"It's been really great," Humphries tells PEOPLE. "The line is really fashion forward, the clothes fit and they look amazing. It's been a really good experience."

UPDATE: Mia Amber Davis

For those of you who have been messaging me privately, I finally gotten some additional information about the unfortunate passing of Mia Amber Davis.  At just 36 years of age, Mia suffered complications following routine knee surgery. I’ve posted a link (click on the picture of Mia) from E! Online which gave some additional details.

Please let us remember to live life to the fullest and as if each day is our last. Let’s keep her family in our prayers as they deal with this tragedy.
